One more week of being a college student!!!!!!!!

I’m at the library writing my last college essay and presentation and I couldn’t be more excited! I just thought you all should know that! Good luck with all of your finals and one day you will be out of here! Congrats to all of the grads!

A stressful time

I think this time of year can be very hard for college students. Class demands may be increasing, large projects are due, and finals are coming up. The holidays are approaching, but we may not have much time to enjoy them. Many students also find themselves fighting off illness. Do any of you have some good suggestions for getting through this part of the semester?

Is social networking good for us?

Staying in touch through Facebook, MySpace and Twitter is supposed to help us feel more connected to one another. Does it do that, or are we relying on virtual connections instead of face to face interaction? What do you think?

Knock, knock! Is anyone home?

Hi! I just found out about this website and I wasn’t quite for sure what different people use this site for. I’m interested to know how often people come and what information they’re seeking when they come here. I found out about it from my friend, but had never heard of it before. How did you all find out about the site?

Helping others...

I was doing one of my random internet searches, which in the past have lead me in many different directions…one night I spent 3.5 hours reading about Kabbalah…Ha!

Anyway, tonight I was reading about a woman named Ayn Rand. Among other controversies that are incited by her name (one of which being that many people believe she is a heretic), I noticed a very interesting quote and wanted to know if others thought there was any truth to it.

Ayn Rand believed that all humans are naturally greedy. That we can never do good deeds for others completely void of personal benefit.

I am torn on this topic. I can definitely see both sides of the argument.

Thoughts??

KSU Questions??

As an experienced student who was once a new student, I’m wondering if I (or other students) can offer any help to any new students out there?

Disappointments in Life

If you are sad or disappointed with the way your life is going. Look deep into other people’s life, they are no different than you. Just that they may have different or same kind of disappointments. Life is a continuous struggle for each individual and mixture of sadness and happiness. If there is no sadness then one is not going to value happiness. So 1)Important thing is one needs to be brave and believe in oneself and God. Seek the guidance from God always. Just consider your disappointments as a test from God and remember good time will always be there waiting after a bad time. Consider the disappointments as a challenge not the end of life. 2) Think positively as everything happens for a reason. 3) Learn not to expect from every one in your life. 4) It’s hard sometimes, but learn to let go of things. 5) Put your best, as sincere efforts for any purpose don’t go in a waste and leave the remaining at will of God. 6) Make a social network of supportive and positive
friends. Everyone needs encouragement. 7) Don’t let fear and emotions lead your life.

i understand in my head but not in my heart

lately, i felt neglected by my love…how can that be that he wants to spend more time with computer and TV than me? i know he wants to relax…but how many hours does one need to relax? does it have to be a whole night? wouldn’t one hour or two be enough? my mind somehow understands but my heart doesn’t. why?

We Feel Fine

I found a cool website called We Feel Fine. It allows you to see MySpace, Twitter and Facebook status updates by keyword. You can categorize the updates by word, age, gender, weather, location or year. For example, you can search for a female in the United States who uses the word “sad” in her status update. The site will pull up updates along with photographs that have been tagged with the word “sad.”

Also, the website has different visuals to see the results. This website caught my attention because it’s a way to connect and know that we aren’t alone in our feelings. I also felt it was a great visual to understand what emotions are being provoked around the world.

To activate the program, go to http://wefeelfine.org/movements.html and click on the link “Open We Feel Fine” in the upper right hand corner. Clicking on one of the dots will open up a status update. It will make sense once you get onto the website, just remember that you can use the toolbar at the top to change the demographics of your search.
