Discussion → Small Group Counseling

I have had some one on one counseling throughout my soon to be four years here. It seems like there is small group counseling, but the info is pretty vague about it.

What I'm basically asking is is there any support group at K-State for people with social anxiety and if there isn't I may be interested in helping start one if others were interested?

Group counseling can be extremly helpful for people with social anxiety (and a variety of other things). In the groups at counseling services everyone is there for their own individual concerns, but members often share many things in common and can support one another.

I've been in group counseling for a while at Kansas State University. It's been a great experience for me. The reasons that information about group is vague probably has to do with confidentiality and because the experiences from group to group differ so much. You can always meet with your individual counselor and the group moderator to talk about it. I really think it's a good idea for people with social anxiety to get involved with group.
